A Changing Landscape
As Stockholm Design Week and Stockholm Furniture Fair transition to a bi-annual format, the rhythm of the design industry is shifting. In response, many studios and brands are seeking new ways to connect beyond the traditional fair cycle.
Form Us With Love believes the collaborative platform for design is more relevant than ever. Testing Grounds Showroom? emerges from this moment — as an independent format for dialogue, experimentation and exchange.

From showcase to living environment
Originally conceived as a week-long annual presentation of ongoing collaborations, Testing Grounds was created to experience design in context — not as isolated objects, but as part of a functioning whole.
In 2026, the format expands into a four-month temporary showroom and living space. A place for work, process and gathering. A space where design is tested in use, over time.

Previous editions have reimagined the co-working environment (2024) and transformed the studio into a functioning bistro — a hub for meeting, eating and conversation (2025).
Each year the format evolves. This year, the question is simple: What is a showroom today?
Form Us With Love, together with BAUX, BYBORRE, Forming Function, Savo, String Furniture and Tarkett, invite you to experience a new answer.

A Living Programme
Throughout the four months, a series of talks, live events and workshops — curated with Playground — explores the role of physical space in an increasingly digital industry. The opening week begins with a discussion on “Showroom?” and the relevance of design weeks, fairs and festivals today.
The first talk ‘What are design weeks and festival for’ with panelists from Swedish Institute, Designers Saturday, and Habitare.

The space acts as a forum for discourse, commercial exchange and connection between studio, partners and the wider A&D community. Visitors are also invited to take part in an ongoing survey exploring what draws people to physical spaces today — asking: What describes you best, and what brings you to a showroom? Is it inspiration, interaction, information or relation?

BAUX
New Baffles, Grids and Floating Panels made from X-FELT — a premium board crafted from GRS-certified PET fibres — form the architectural backbone of the space. Integrated as zoning elements, they map the showroom and define its atmosphere.

The installation demonstrates BAUX’s balance of acoustic performance, material softness and expressive form — offering architects and designers both creative freedom and responsible production.
BYBORRE
Launching during Testing Grounds Showroom?, Form Us With Love introduces Iris — the studio’s first textile collection, developed in collaboration with Dutch textile innovator BYBORRE.

Based on one of BYBORRE’s signature micro-patterns, Iris uses advanced knit construction to create optical colour blending within the material itself. The textile combines visual depth with the durability and performance standards required for interior upholstery.
Technically engineered yet visually nuanced, Iris demonstrates how digital knitting can unlock aesthetic possibilities beyond traditional weaving — balancing precision, tactility and transparent production.

For Testing Grounds Showroom?, BYBORRE introduces a knitted poster that demonstrates how knit can move beyond material application to become a tool for visual communication and experimentation.
STRING FURNITURE
Originally developed for the FUWL studio, Center Center joined String Furniture’s portfolio in 2023. The perforated steel storage system functions equally as shelving and spatial divider.

During Testing Grounds Showroom?, the system becomes a live lab. Visitors are invited to evaluate new accessory concepts and prototypes developed by FUWL — with selected pieces potentially moving into production based on real-time feedback.
FORMING FUNCTION
An evolving hybrid work culture formed a collaboration with Form Us With Love to address the relationship with technical accessories, particularly for charging and electrical products.

Nomad reimagined introduces a taller, adjustable silhouette and a new curated colour palette. The Designer Editions expand the collection with 130 RAL shades, broadening the expressive range of the adaptable lighting system.
SAVO
In collaboration with Scandinavian seating pioneer Savo, FUWL presents a new iteration of Spine — a modular chair system designed as a flexible platform for evolving work environments.

Spine transitions between stool, meeting chair and task chair through its modular construction. An upholstered edition debuts during Testing Grounds Showroom?, featuring textiles developed with BYBORRE.
TARKETT
Tarkett iQ vinyl flooring is integrated into the showroom in unexpected ways — extending beyond flooring into surfaces such as table tops.

By reimagining high-performance materials in new applications, the installation challenges conventional hierarchies between product categories and demonstrates material versatility in practice.
